April 21, 2017

This last week was a bit of a roller coaster ride for Tiger Baseball. They started off the week by beating Bloomfield 6-0 at home, lost to Farmington 4-3 at home, then capped off the week with a 12-0 win over Gallup Bengals on the road. The game of the week was the Tigers against the Farmington Scorpions. After the first inning the Tigers pulled ahead of the Scorps 3-2 with help from a Derek Jung homerun. The Scorps tied it up in the third inning and the game remained tied through four solid innings keeping fans on both sides on the edge of their seats. The game moved into the eighth and the Scorps came up with one run, leaving the Tigers one last chance to tie it up or win the game. The Tigers had a couple opportunities with runners on base to score but came up short. The Tigers will get another shot at the Scorps in the second round of district play on April 25. District play will continue for the Tigers over the next couple weeks and at this point it is anybody’s ball game in 5A District 1 baseball.
