The Aztec High School Golf Team would like to thank the City of Aztec for keeping the Aztec Municipal Golf Course open. We know there have been some challenges and really appreciate the extra efforts being made by the city to keep this course going. We currently have 25 players between Varsity and Junior Varsity. We use the course a lot for practices in preparation of a very busy upcoming season. We will have 10 tournaments total which include a Varsity tournament on April 17th, a JV tournament on April 27th, and a district tournament May 1 this year at Aztec Municipal Golf Course. This is the first time in years we have had a district tournament and are very proud to conduct this tournament in Aztec. We have approximately 7 teams that compete in the 5A tournaments. We are already going to state May 8 – 9 at Canyon Club in Albuquerque with Linda Peralta who had 5 legs currently and is qualified for state. We are very proud of this senior who represents AHS with pride. The girls Varsity team have 2 legs and hope to score one more for state. The boys Varsity team need to score 3 legs or win District in order to go to state but we have some awesome players and I know they will be successful. We are especially proud of our Aztec Municipal Golf Course and very thankful to the City of Aztec for keeping it going.
