DANCING WITH THE FARMINGTON STARS

March 11, 2017

On Saturday, March 11th the Farmington Civic Center will be presenting the second annual Dancing with Your Farmington Stars performance. Just like the hit TV show of similar name, this is a night to watch local stars dance the fox trot, salsa and other ballroom styles with professional dance partners. The audience gets to laugh with hilarious judges and vote for their favorite star. The charity of choice for the winning star receives a portion the proceeds from the night. The show includes children’s and professional dance exhibitions as well as performances from the Farmington stars!

This year’s stars include Bloomfield Mayor and San Juan County Commissioner Scott Eckstein (dancing for Bloomfield PAL), Farmington City Councilor Nate Duckett (dancing for Childhaven CASA Program), former City Councilor George Sharpe (dancing for Farmington Boys & Girls Club), Witty Entrepreneur and PRCA Commission member Jane Banes (dancing for Special Olympics), Banker Extraordinaire Ginger Palmer (dancing for Witten’s Warriors) and Fun-loving Engineer Connie Dinning (dancing for Childhaven Foundation).

Councilor Duckett commented “I am excited to be participating with such amazing community members. Being considered a “star” next to these folks is very humbling to me. I can’t wait to get out there and bust a move on the dance floor for the Childhaven CASA program.”

Each star will be paired with a professional dancer from the Utah Ballroom Dance Company and given a week to learn the choreography for dances to be performed live that night.

“We are excited to welcome Utah Ballroom Dance Company and their professional dancers for the second year in a row for this popular community event,” stated Lisa Hutchens, Farmington Civic Center Supervisor and event coordinator. She encouraged, “Come cheer and vote for your favorite star and charity!”

The evening will close out with a VIP after hours party that will start immediately after the show where attendees can rub elbows with the Farmington stars and other talent while enjoying refreshments and dancing.
