A HARMONY OF OPPOSITES

Ellsbury and Hazen exhibit

February 24, 2017

Two trees, one heart by Karen Ellsbury

Karen Ellsbury and Patrick Hazen will showcase an array of art in an exhibit titled A Harmony of Opposites, at the Henderson Fine Arts Center Art Gallery, March 3 to March 24.

An opening reception will be held Friday, March 3, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Henderson Fine Arts Center Art Gallery.

Broken Dream by Patrick Hazen

Two heads are better than one some say, and in the case of husband and wife team, Karen Ellsbury and Patrick Hazen, it certainly rings true. The show will feature Patrick's stunning landscape photography, Karen's emotive abstract/impressionistic paintings, as well as their newest collaborative project – Photo-fusions.

Patrick captures the soul of nature in his landscape photography. He likes to explore his surroundings and finds alternative views to commonly photographed works.

Karen likes to paint the way a place or moment feels to her, so that the viewer senses the sentiment, if not the precise image. She enjoys seeing her abstract work through other people's eyes and hearing their interpretations. If her pieces convey emotion, for which there are no words, then she has done her job.
