#44 Shelby Bradford looks for open team mate

Any senior in high school or college wants to be recognized for his or her sport. The players of the Lady Tigers Basketball team got recognized just before the varsity basketball game on February 10, 2017. The team contains four seniors; Alexis Dalton (#3), Linda Peralta (#20), Kamryn Phelps (#30), and Makayla McCaskell (#13). They were being supported by their other teammates and the fans. Although the Tigers did not win the game (42 to 43, Farmington), it was extremely close and as one coach, James Coulter puts it, "We played hard, just came up short at the end."

All three teams; C-team, JV, and Varsity, played on Friday, Feb. 10th on their home turf, Lillywhite gym at Aztec High school. Playing Farmington, JV had an overall score of 19-53. The girls "fought hard" throughout the game. The game as a whole was tiring and challenging but fun none-the-less, which sports are really all about. Coulter, assistant coach for JV, says the girls had fun but had gotten tired throughout the course of the game.

C-Team came out with a final score of 36 points to Farmington's 39. Aztec was pulling ahead until the fourth quarter where Farmington managed to get some winning shots. The head coach of C-team, James Coulter, recognized the team as a whole by saying, "This is the best game we have played in the district this season." He also recognized Carley Smith, an 8th grader, by saying she played really smart in foul trouble. He also recognized Martiana Begay, a freshman, who played the entire second half without a sub, showing a lot of heart.
