Emilia Domenica Burns

Emilia Domenica Burns, 96, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was called to her eternal rest by our Lord Jesus Christ on October 28, 2017. She died peacefully in the home she loved, enjoying the sunshine and birds outside her back porch.

Mass of Christian Burial was held November 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish in Aztec. Burial followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Farmington.

In lieu of flowers, we would ask contributions be made to the “Parish Poor Fund,” c/o St. Joseph’s Parish Office, 424 N. Mesa Verde, Aztec, New Mexico, 87410

Bloomfield

Alexia “Carol” Zwiener

July 8, 1944 - Oct. 28, 2017

Alexia “Carol” Zwiener, 73, of Bloomfield, went home to the Lord Saturday, Oct. 28, in Farmington. She was born July 8, 1944 in Denver, Colo., to Harley and Alexia Street.

Funeral service was held November 2, at Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington. Interment followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Farmington.

Aztec

Santiago Emilio Sandoval

Santiago Emilio Sandoval, 26, of Aztec, beloved son and father, passed from this life on Saturday, Oct. 28.

He worked in the oilfields most of his life. He didn’t know a stranger and was always ready to help anyone when called upon.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Jane Sandoval, and his grandfather, Ubaldo Jacquez.

Survivors include his mother Stephanie Sandoval and friend Billy; father Randy Jacquez; son Julian and mother Julie Benavidez; dad Nathan Garcia; grandfather Louie Sandoval; grandmother Olivia Velasquez and husband David; and great grandmother Gloria Garcia; Uncle Louie Sandoval Jr.; sisters Krystal Jacquez-Valdez and husband Luke, and Olivia Jacquez; brothers Nick Garcia, Sammy Garcia, Jacob Jacquez, Tyler Lucero, and Randy (RJ) Jacquez; one niece, one nephew and numerous cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held November 4 at The Masters Hand Church of God in Bloomfield. Another service will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church i Aztec, where a rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM.

Aztec

Kristina Jo Basher

June 1, 1960 - Oct. 29, 2017

Kristina Jo Basher, 57, of Aztec, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, in Albuquerque. She was born in Durango, Colo., on June 1, 1960 to Buck and Evelyn Wagner.

Kristina enlisted in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. She served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm as a helicopter electronic repair tech & transportation specialist. She enjoyed horseback riding, shooting, softball, baking, crocheting and gardening.

Visitation will be held November 10 at 11:30 a.m., at Farmington Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
